COILED Wines Logo/Branding and Label Design
True story: When Leslie Preston approached Julia of Folia Design to come up with her logo and label design back in 2007, the selected name was based on the valley where the grapes were being sourced in Idaho: the Snake River Valley, hence COILED Wines. However, Leslie admitted she HATED snakes (emphasis on H.A.T.E.D.) so, no images of snakes was to be used! Folia Design just got clever with what part of the snake could be used. Since then, the COILED Wines brand has evolved, introducing additional wines and vintages and a sibling label called Translations. In 2017, Julia helped with getting the brand inline with the newly acquisitioned Garden City building which is their production hub and tasting room as well as the new downtown wine bar. And to think, those pretty patterns of scales are climbing all over Leslie, the COILED Wines team and visitors.
